Vandoren Traditional Alto Sax Reeds

Vandoren Traditional reeds are characterized by a very thin tip (the part of the reed that vibrates against the lip), but supported and balanced by a very robust heel (the back part of the reed held by the ligature). This combination allows the musician to produce an extremely pure sound. Aesthetically, Traditional reeds are recognizable by their linear tip cut, which differs from other models that have more rounded edges.

Vandoren Traditional saxophone reeds have a finer tip and a thinner spine, offering precise articulation with a full, dark sound.

The reeds are made from cane, which is particularly sensitive to changes in humidity. Vandoren Traditional reeds are now individually packaged. These "Flow Packs" ensure a reed with stable hydration.
