Vandoren V12 Bass Clarinet Reeds

V12 clarinet reeds are produced using cane of the same diameter used to produce alto saxophone reeds, thus V12 reeds have a thicker heel and a longer, fuller vibrating surface than Traditional reeds, resulting in a richer, darker sound. Vandoren V12 reeds, having a thicker tip, add body to the attack and are more durable over time. The reeds are made from cane, which is particularly sensitive to changes in humidity. Vandoren V12 reeds are now individually packaged in what are known as Flow Packs, which ensure the reed maintains stable hydration.
