In a grand piano, sound resonates throughout the instrument's entire body, producing a rich reverberation that envelops the listener in sound. It's not just the strings you're playing that vibrate, but all other strings as well, reacting with each other. This is one of the reasons why the piano sound is so rich and complex. This phenomenon is perfectly reproduced in the DGX-670 through Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM), which calculates the various states of the strings for each of the 88 keys on the keyboard from one moment to the next. As a result, the DGX-670 reflects the unlimited number of factors inherent in acoustic piano performance, such as the keys pressed, the force with which the keys are played, and the timing of the pedal.
Simple and intuitive controls allow you to choose from different piano voices and instruments. Experience the acoustics in a rehearsal room, on a stage, in a cathedral, and in other venues, and experiment with how far to open the grand piano lid to get a feel for the subtle differences in sound.
The 88-key Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) piano keyboard provides a heavier touch in the lower register and a lighter touch in the upper register, just like an acoustic piano. It's excellent for aspiring pianists, as practicing on the GHS mechanism helps build finger strength and technique in preparation for playing an acoustic piano.
The two-way system features 12cm round speakers for impressive mids and bass and a tweeter for shimmering highs. The piano sound is designed to be immersive from the listening position, and the accompaniment is optimized for impactful listening.
When using headphones, the Stereophonic Optimizer allows the pianist to enjoy the sound diffusion experienced when sitting in front of an acoustic piano. Thanks to the Stereophonic Optimizer, sampled sounds from acoustic pianos appear to emanate from the body of the instrument. This ensures a comfortable, natural experience, eliminating the disadvantages of headphone listening.
The DGX-670 features Adaptive Style, a function that automatically analyzes your playing in real-time and arranges the accompaniment according to the flow of the music. Play with more intensity and Adaptive Style increases the accompaniment; switch to a gentler mood and the Adaptive Style softens with you. The accompaniment follows you wherever you are at any given moment, giving every song the exciting feeling of a live performance.
Smart Chord allows you to play like a professional, even if you are still learning to play. With a single finger on your left hand, Smart Chord can create full chords, from simple Pop triads to complex 7th and 9th chords. The accompaniment styles create the rest of your virtual band so you can play immediately.
Unison & Accent are functions that open up a wide range of expressive capabilities. With Unison, play a phrase while pressing the pedal, causing the accompaniment style to play in unison with you. This allows you to perform distinctive lines found in iconic songs or create your own personal pieces that the entire band can follow. Accent allows you to add rhythmic "hits" to emphasize notes of your choice simply by playing a little harder.
